Connected Intelligence, Private Work, And Workflows

HivemindOS can keep track of changing source material, protect a device-only work session, and turn a plain-language goal into a reviewable sequence of steps. These controls are designed to work together: source material remains evidence, Private Work limits where work can go, and workflows remain drafts until you explicitly enable them.

Follow Changes From Connected Sources

Open Brain > Hive Vault and find Connected sources in Brain Services. The card shows:

  • how many sources and source items are available;
  • what is new or updated since you last looked;
  • when each source last changed;
  • whether a source is active or paused; and
  • any source that needs attention.

Documents added through Feed the brain appear here automatically. Supported connections can also send bounded batches of updates. HivemindOS remembers each source’s place, ignores unchanged copies, records a new version when the content changes, and waits safely when a daily source limit is reached.

Connected material is never promoted into trusted memory just because it arrived. Every durable source note is visibly marked as untrusted source material. Review the underlying claim before turning it into a decision, instruction, or other trusted memory.

Use Mark read after reviewing the current changes. Pausing a source stops new batches from being accepted; it does not delete material already in your brain.

Keep Work On Your Devices

Open an agent’s settings and turn on Keep all work on my devices. Private Work stays on across HivemindOS until you turn it off.

While it is on:

  • agent requests must use an on-device option on this device or another connected device;
  • connected actions and other external calls are blocked;
  • command runs are prevented from reaching the network; and
  • scheduled or background actions cannot bypass the same boundary.

Local files, local tools, and connected devices remain available. If this device cannot guarantee that a command will stay offline, HivemindOS blocks the command and explains what to do next.

Private Work does not disconnect accounts or erase saved connections. It temporarily prevents work from using them. Turn it off when you intentionally want an agent or action to reach an external service.

Build A Workflow From A Goal

Open Work > Automations, then choose Build a multi-step workflow in the top toolbar.

  1. Describe the result you want in a sentence.
  2. Choose Preview workflow.
  3. Review the proposed steps, handoffs, and approval points.
  4. Choose Check preview to validate the workflow without running anything.
  5. Choose Save draft to keep editing, or Save and enable when it is ready.
  6. Add the result you want for this run, then start it.

A proposed or newly built workflow cannot run while it is a draft. Goals that include sending, publishing, paying, deleting, booking, or another outward action receive an approval step in the proposal. Existing action permissions still apply when a run reaches that step.

Review And Resume A Run

The Runs tab shows the current state and completed step results. Every important transition is saved before the next action begins. If HivemindOS or the device stops during a run, open the run and choose Resume. It continues from the last safe point instead of restarting completed steps.

Recover A Full Tool Result

Long tool output is shortened before it is returned to an agent so a single response does not crowd out the actual task. HivemindOS keeps the exact original locally for a limited time and includes a recovery reference in the shortened result. The agent can retrieve the whole result or just the relevant section when the missing detail matters.

Saved results are automatically removed when they expire. Private Work does not block local recovery.
